This USB software update is intended for users who don't connect their Mr Beam II to the internet or can not use the over the air update feature for other reasons.

The software_update stick updates the software of your Mr Beam II. It can be found under Downloads directly from the product page in the store.

Note: the built-in "over the air" update provides new versions earlier than they are provided as a USB update. That's why it is the recommended way to update.

How to use it: 3 easy steps

ATTENTION: Any running laser jobs will be cancelled.

1. In a USB stick: create a folder called mrbeam and copy the SIG file there.
Requirements for the USB stick:
  • at least 2 GB free disk space
  • USB 2.0 compatible
  • FAT32 formatted
  • Only one SIG file on the stick
  • Please read this article for more details
2. Plug the USB stick into your Mr Beam II. After a few seconds you will see a white light pattern.
3. Once the Mr Beam II switches to bright green light, unplug the USB stick.

Estimated run time: < 5 minutes.

Note: If you have BeamOS 2.0 or higher, your Mr Beam will switch off. Then you can switch it on again with the button (press for 2 seconds). With older versions, the Mr Beam restarts.
